Help Shape the Future of Walkability near Roanoke County Bus Stops

Roanoke County is seeking input from community members and bus riders to improve walkability near the intersection of Plantation Road and Hershberger Road—an important area that includes four Valley Metro bus stops near Walmart, Food Lion, and Edinburgh Square.

As part of the Virginia Walkability Action Institute (VWAI), the County is conducting a brief survey to better understand how people experience walking, biking, and accessing transit in this area. Whether you live, work, shop, or ride the bus nearby, your feedback is important.

This study aims to identify barriers to safe and comfortable walking and develop strategies to improve connections between neighborhoods, businesses, and bus stops. Your input will help shape future projects and policies that support safer, more accessible travel options for everyone.
